The heart of olean mural
“Vantage Point: Our Valley of The Sun” is a 10,000 square-foot mural that covers all four sides of the Library and Liberal Arts Center at the SUNY Jamestown Community College Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean, New York.
More than 10% of Olean’s community participated in painting the mural
Community is a major theme throughout the project. More than 10% of the population participated in painting the mural through community paint days during May, June, and July of 2022. Using a paint-by-numbers system, community members painted on a special cloth that was later affixed to the building walls to create 30% of the final installation.
